Last month I was lucky enough to attended an event that can be described as every Lush addicts dream come true ! The event was a preview of all the lovely new goodies Lush has introduced to replace the recently discontinued items ( like my beloved Flying Fox click here for my review ).
The venue – a chic art gallery was transformed in to one glorious Lush store, with delightful & interactive product displays . The tour Began with the evolution of the brand over the past 20 years and then each visitor had to go on something akin to a treasure hunt, visit each display to learn something about a Lush product or one of their many initiatives and get a product in return. My favorite activity was when I got the chance to make the Big Blue bath bomb (which I got to keep) and leaving my bright green palm print to support Lush’s “Wash your hands of Palm Oil” campaign (Lush has reformulated all their soaps using palm oil alternatives like Coconut & Rapeseed oils).
On every corner there were lovely surprises, like the Gorilla Perfume counter – displaying the Inhale Exhale perfume (aka Breath of God). A perfume that earned 5 stars in the book “Perfumes the A-Z Guide” from “the emperor of scent” Luca Turin & Tania Sanchez.
The next part of the tour led us through a darkened passage which was filled with beautiful images of Lush bath bombs / ballistics dissolving in water. Then we moved on to try out one of the brand new bath bombs – “The Experimenter”. The most colourful bath bomb Lush has ever created. The bomb melts in to a psychedelic swirl of shades (if you want to see the swirling shades remember to spin the bomb when you put it in to the bath!).
After a quick peek in to the Halloween specials our tour stopped at the giant tower of gifts Lush has in store for Christmas! What caught my eyes the most were the lovely gift tins in varying sizes.
And we got to see more old & new bath bombs and ballistics ( they have reformulated a lot of old favorites as well). My favorite ones out of the bunch were Holly Golightly (a bubble bar with warming cinnamon, clove and patchouli oils), Golden Wonder (a shimmery golden bath bomb scented with lime & orange oil that turns a lovely turquoise) and Butter Bear (a cute little vanilla & ylang ylang scented bear enriched with fair trade coca butter they’ll leave your skin soft and moisturised).
Then it was on to the hair/bath & body and skin care section and there were some wonderful new products that got me very excited ! There are sweet smelling, solid hot oil treatments (which needs to mixed with hot water), a conditioning hair rinse – Avocado Co-wash and a honey scented hair moisturiser – Queen Bee. I tried a bit of Queen Bee in my hair and it turned my dry curls silky soft . So it’s definitely going on my must buy list !
Another thing that caught my imagination was the new range of shower powders ( or as Lush calls them Showder !). These come in cartons that look like old fashioned laundry detergent. There are two scents – Lemon Sherbet (an intense lemon) and Candy Floss (a comforting vanilla scent that’s quite similar to their Rock Star soap)
One more thing that caught my eye was Cup o’coffee. An gentle exfoliating face mask that smells like the most divine cup of coffee you will ever have ! The lady (who had the most beautiful mermaid blue hair !) who was in charge of the skincare section was kind enough to let me try it on my hands and after I washed it off, my hands were as soft as a babies bottom 🙂 And it’s a great product to use on sleepy morning as the smell just wakes you up !
And to top the evening off, we received a fabulous gift containing some of the new releases which made this Lush addict very, very happy 😀
Have you tried any of the new products from Lush ? Which ones are your favorites ?
Thank you so much for reading and have a lovely weekend !
