Do you remember the Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse foundation that used to come in a black jar (with a cute little kabuki brush) ? It used to be one of my favorite foundations. It was light as air and had lovely coverage. It was a sad day for me when I found out it was discontinued. But now it’s back in the form of Bourjois Air Mat foundation (with a blend of mattifying powder, zinc extract and tiny silica beads to absorb excess oil).
This new formulation is a lightly scented (fruity /floral) liquid foundation(with a thicker, mousse like texture), that’s supposed to last 24 hours on your face. And true to its name it’s one of the lightest feeling foundation’s I’ve worn. Unlike some matte foundations, it does not give a flat, mask like effect to the skin. And because of it’s unique texture (slightly similar to Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue ) it won’t emphasis any dry or flaky areas either. While the coverage is medium, once applied, it blends very well in to the skin (almost undetectable) and makes my pores appear smaller.
I am not sure if this lives up to its claim that it lasts 24 hours (really? who wears foundation for that long?) but it does seem to last very well on my extremely oily skin. The matte effect lasts for 4-5 hours but I by the afternoon my face was a little oily (I usually touch-up my t-zone with pressed powder). This foundation is also non-comedogenic so it’s great for people with acne prone skin like me!
I love to apply the Bourjois Air Mat foundation with either my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush or fingers (the brush offers fuller coverage).
Bourjois products have never disappointed me and this foundation is no exception! The shade range is quite good and the price is amazing for its quality!
Have you tried Bourjois Air Mat? Would love to know your thoughts..
Thank you so much for reading and have a lovely weekend !
