Olay Regenerist CC Cream review (aka Total Effects Tone Correcting Moisturizer)

I  recently posted a photo of my CC cream collection on Instagram and asked everyone which one I should review first, and this received the most votes. It’s unique swirly appearance seemed to intrigue everyone !

A closer look – the swirls of white is the anti-aging serum, the light beige is foundation ..

The CC cream, comes packaged in a clear plastic pump bottle. According to Olay -it contains an anti-aging serum(white) and a sheer foundation cream(from Max Factor) , swirled together and suspended in a clear gel formula. This CC cream also offers SPF15 sun protection.

Before the cc cream is blended in to the skin (photo was taken in direct sunlight)

Once the pump is pressed, the two formulations mix together and you get something that looks like a tinted moisturiser. There were 3 shades available and after trying them out (most Dubai hypermarkets offer testers) ,I bought the light shade. The cream when it comes out, is quite thick and looks a bit grayish. But the gray cast vanishes after it’s blended in to the skin. In this aspect it almost reminds me of Asian BB creams (most of them when applied, looks a bit gray and then adjusts to your skin colour).

As you can see – after the cream is blended ,it leaves behind a nice glow !

Be warned, though the cream is thick, the coverage is very light (compared to the Bourjois CC cream that offers medium coverage).  It will not cover any acne scars or areas that you might need coverage. But it does give a beautiful glow to my face (not an oily glow :)). And it does not make my oily skin more oily. I usually wear it with a little concealer and powder (to cover my acne scars).

With continued use, this cream is supposed help even out your skin tone and minimize the signs of aging. According to Olay, this formula contains a high concentration of Niacinamide. An ingredient that’s supposed  to be great at healing acne blemishes and smoothing out fine lines by improving the surface cell turnover. I haven’t been using it for long so I cannot attest to it’s blemish fading claims (and my two serums from Boots seems to be doing that anyway click here for the review).

If you are looking for an illuminating drugstore moisturiser, this just might be what you were looking for. And this might interest people who hate wearing foundation (but still want a healthy glow).  But it’s always best to test this out at the store if possible before buying it.

Thank you so much for reading and have a lovely Thursday !
